We manufacturing only Sodium Chloride (NaCl) with over 268 different grades for over 190 different industrial and consumer applications. Lake Salt

Pakistan is one of the very few countries which has been bestowed with all the three types of available salt in the world. Lake salt of Pakistan is excellent in quality and the quantity available is as much as you want . Previouslly it used to be a problem extracting deep from the deserts of Sind but now with the excellent road network the capacities are increasing by the day.

In certain locations transportation is done by special-desert trucks which can carry 10 tons of load at a time and work round the clock. The lakes are located some 300 km from the city of Karachi .At the moment a small quantity of 3000 tons is extracted from these 20 to 30 lakes on daily basis making the yearly average production to around 900000 tons.

There are three different sites from where lake salt is being extracted at the moment. First In the district of MirPurkhas there is a small town by the name of KHIPRO and thus salt extracted from here is known as KHIPRO salt. The second site is in the district of Badin and the salt extracted from this region is known as BADIN salt. The third site is in the region of Mithi district Tharparker The quality of all these region is very good rather excellent but keeps on fluctuating a little with the change of weather. Overall salt of a purity of 98% + is usually attainable throughout the year.

Rock Salt

Rock salt found in Pakistan is without any doubt the best in the world .The purity of the best quality of rock salt found is above 99% and the levels of impurities are also very very low.

The quality of Rock salt as far as crystals is concerned can be found here of four different types including pink, and white solid crystal and the other two available are soft lump and soft crystalline lump. The soft crystalline lump is so soft that it can be very easily broken down to tiny crystals by ones own hands.

Pakistan is known for its famous salt range stretching from Kalabagh to Jhelum covering the districts of Mianwali, Chakwal and Jhelum in the Province of Punjab. In the Province of NWFP Geological surveys of the PMDC Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation have determined the existence of 2.65 billion tons alone in this area only. Reserves at Bahadurkhel in Kohat are estimated to be 10.54 billion tons.

The overall scenario here at the salt range mining site is that it is very very under utilized and the production here is too small keeping in view the deposits of this most important mineral.

The total production estimates of all the mines of Pakistan is estimated at around 1800000 tons anually.

Crystalline Rock Salt

Pakistan is famous for its salt ranges. We offer to our customers a number of grades in crystalline rock salt ranging from dark pink rock salt to light pink rock salt. Crystalline rock salt is also available in white crystal type grades. Size entirely depends on the requirement of the customer . We have many many sizes to offer ranging from pieces of 10 kg to 10 grams and from 1.5 mm to any size required by the customer. Some sample images are available in the website.

Edible Grade Salt (Food Grade)

There are various grades available for the edible market. We at HUB-PAK have recently started marketing of edible salt under our own brand of HUB-SALT and are also providing to many packers and suppliers. Our edible grades are used in numerous food related industries like bread making, confectionery, bakery, cereals, butter and cheese, pickles and spices, etc.
Salt is used in the bread manufacturing for the stability of the wheat gluten and helps to lower the rate of fermentation. Salt acts as a starter in the culture of micro-organisms and helps modifying enzyme activity in the production of cheese. In pickles, salt helps in controlling the microbiological and pyrogenic growth, and thus provides the conditions conducive for fermentation.
Fleur de Sel is a rare and very special sea salt and is a gift from nature. HUB SALT can boast of a very high quality of the fleur de Sel harvested by it.

Nitrite Salt

Salt has been playing a constant role as a preservative for meat and poultry products. As use of salt as a meat preservative spread, a preference developed for certain salts that produce a pink colour and special flavour in meat. This is the effect we see in cured meat today. It was learnt recently by R&D of HUB-PAK that the presence of nitrate in salt was actually responsible for this colour and flavour in meat, it was further discovered that the nitrate present in salt is converted to nitrite by bacterial action during processing and storage and nitrate itself without the bacterial conversion is useless.
HUB-PAK has developed a few grades with nitrate fortified salt for this special application. Nitrite in meat greatly delays development of bottulinal toxin, it develops cured meat flavour and retards development of rancidity and off-odors and off-flavours during storage , inhibits development of warmed over flavour and preserves flavours of spices, smoke and other flavour enhancement agents.
Sodium nitrite rather than sodium nitrate is most commonly used as an additive in Sodium Chloride for curing purposes , although Sodium nitrate is used in a few specialized products like country ham, etc . Please contact HUB-PAK for all your specialized needs we have an answer for you.

Oil Drilling Grade Salt

HUB-PAK enjoys a very good export market for the oil and gas drilling grade of salt with an ever-expanding export program which takes our salt to countries such as Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Mauritius, Reunion Island, Brunei, and the United Kingdom.
We have many grades to offer to the oil drilling sector starting from PVD salt to even a lower grade of 97~~98% with major emphasis on quality and timely shipments which is a very important factor for the drilling companies. They and we both know it well and we understand their position on this.
